Donation Policy

This page explains what happens to your gift after you send it, and what you are entitled to in return.

How payment works

Donations on this site are processed by Stripe. When you choose an amount and press the donate button, your browser is handed to a payment page hosted by Stripe at checkout.stripe.com, and your card details are entered there. They do not pass through our servers, we do not store them, and we cannot see them.

The currency is US dollars only, and you may give once or monthly.

Stripe deducts a processing fee from each payment, and the charity receives the remainder. The fee is shown on the receipt Stripe issues.

A gift counts only once Stripe itself confirms the payment. Reaching the thank-you page is not proof on its own — if no receipt arrives within a few minutes, write to info@tazcharity.org before trying again, so you are not charged twice.

Monthly giving

If you choose "monthly", the same amount is charged to your card every month until you stop it. There is no fixed term and no minimum number of months.

To stop it, write to info@tazcharity.org from the address you gave with. We stop it within one working day and send you confirmation. There is currently no self-service cancellation page on the site — we say so plainly rather than promise a button that does not exist.

If a month's charge fails — an expired card, or a decline — we email you. Stripe retries, and if it still fails the monthly gift ends and you are told so.

How donations are used

You can direct your gift to a specific programme — treatment abroad, education in Gaza, or food parcels — or leave it as "where it is needed most". We honour the direction you choose.

If a programme becomes fully funded or stops running, we contact you before moving your gift to another one.

Receipts

Two receipts reach you automatically after every successful gift: one from the charity carrying your name, the amount, and where you directed it, and one from Stripe for the payment itself. Neither has to be asked for.

Nothing arrived? Check your spam folder first, then write to us and we will send it again.

No goods or services were provided to you in exchange for your donation, and the receipt says so, as United States tax rules require.

Tax status

Tareeq Alzuhoor Charity Inc. is a tax-exempt organisation under section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code, and its federal tax identification number (EIN) is 93-1749175. Your gift is tax-deductible for US taxpayers to the extent allowed by law.

The official documents — including the certificate of filing with the Texas Secretary of State under file number 805068490 — are published on our About page, where you can download and verify them.

If you are outside the United States, deductibility is governed by the law where you live; write to us and we will provide whatever details you need.

Refunds

Donations are not refundable as a rule, because they are committed to programmes once received.

If something went wrong, though — a duplicate payment, a figure larger than you intended, a monthly gift you did not realise was monthly — write to us within thirty days and we will refund it to the same card through Stripe and stop any monthly gift attached to it immediately. A refund usually takes several working days to appear on your statement, and that timing is set by your bank rather than by us.

If you see a charge in our name that you do not recognise, write to us before opening a dispute with your bank — we can look up the transaction and act faster.

Fundraising in the charity's name

No person or organisation may raise funds in the name of Tareeq Alzuhoor Charity Inc. without written authorisation from us. If you are asked for a donation in our name and are unsure, check with us first at info@tazcharity.org. The only official channels are this website and the charity's own email address.

Donor privacy

We do not sell or exchange donor information with anyone.

Be aware, though: we publish the donor's name and the amount on our supporters page by default. If you would rather we did not, tick "Give anonymously" before paying — the option sits directly above the payment button — or write to us afterwards and we will hide your name within one working day.
